Dual-line system

One of the key features of heavy process industry is many lubrication points in a rather small area. This makes it very economical to use an advanced lubrication system. Even though almost any size system can profit from a dual-line system, it gets more economical, the more lubrication points there are in the system. Examples of such applications are lubrication of paper machines, causticizing plants, cleaning plants, bark presses, debarking drums, sawmills, various applications in steel mills and plants for non-ferrous metals, guide vanes in water turbines, etc. Assalub’s dual-line system is designed for use in tough situations. The dispensers are manufactured in zinc plated steel, but there is a version in acid proof steel (AISI 316) for especially tough environments. A dual-line system can include more than 1,000 lubrication points. The system’s heart is Assalub’s air powered dual-line pump and it’s either controlled by a control unit for one or more channels, or by the lubricated machine’s control unit.

Advantages of dual line systems

  • A reliable system.
  • Very cost-efficient.
  • Much less risk of grease separation compared to most other systems.
  • Flexible system, easy to increase or reduce the number of application points.
  • Easy to maintain, repair and troubleshoot.
  • A closed system minimizes the risk of contaminating the grease.
  • Individually adjustable dispensing valves optimizes the grease feed.

Why choose Assalub’s dual-line grease lubrication system?

Assalub’s dual-line grease lubrication system offers a host of benefits that make it the optimal choice for lubrication needs.

Here are some of the reasons to consider Assalub dual-line system:
  ● The system is suitable for a large number of lubrication points.
● Closed system that gives a minimal risk of contamination of the grease.
● Can easily change the number of lubrication points and change the amount of grease for each specific lubrication point.
● Very easy to change a dosing valve.

Overview of the dual-line lubrication system

In a dual-line system you have two pipes, Line 1 and Line 2, those are the main pipes. Branch pipes are connected to the main pipes. The branch pipes are connected to base plates with dispensers. The function of the system is based on alternating pressurizing one line and the other is depressurized. Two pressurizations (lubrications) and two pause times make up a lubrication cycle. When the system has completed a lubrication cycle, all connected lubrication points have been lubricated.

The system consists of a control unit, valve unit, air-operated pump with return, main pipes, branch pipes, base plates with dispensers, pressure transmitter and lubrication pipes.

The functions and features of the control unit

In the control unit, the pause time is entered, among other things. Here you can also see what pressure you have in the various lines and if you get an alarm. You can also make extra lubrications from here. We can control a one channel dual-line grease lubrication system with our smallest control unit, and a four channel dual-line grease lubrication systems with our largest control unit. In addition, we have a control unit that can both control a dual-line grease lubrication system while wirelessly monitoring 20 grease flow sensors.

Flexibility in dosage and material selection

The dosing valves are mounted on base plates. The base plates are available in 6 different sizes, from base plates for 1 dispenser up to base plates for 6 dispensers. There are two different materials to choose from for the base plates. Aluminum or stainless steel. The dosing valves are available in three different sizes. The first number on the model designation indicates the size, 01, 1 or 2. The last number in the model designation tells whether the dispenser lubricates 1 or 2 lubrication points. We can also connect the outlets from up to 3 dispensers, which means that we can lubricate from 0.15 g up to 27 g per lubrication cycle. The dosing valves are also available in two different materials, zinc plated steel or stainless steel (AISI 316).

All this together means that we get a reliable, easy-to-understand and flexible lubrication system.
